Do not let Capcom write AA7!
This is something I have seen proposed, it's dumb.
The main point was that Capcom "know what we want" and this alone tells me the people saying this know nothing about story telling! Fans should never, ever concern themselves with what the writer wants. A good story does not care about characters, themes and narrative, corporate mandated stories do. A true story is about apeasing fans.
Not to sound rude, but a lot of AA writers are not fans. To assume you could write a good game just because you know what you want to happen to your own characters is absurd. AA writers, and most writers, have the problem of treating characters like they are props used to tell a compelling narrative and deliver themes, and not real people.
I like my favourite characters too, and I want to see them be happy and do silly stuff. Above that, however, I don't want a game about the nature of justice or revenge or something new the series hasn't done yet. I just want to see Wright and Edgeworth go on a date. I just want Apollo to have another backstory. I would HATE if there was any artistic value or "good writing" involved.
Not all writers would write like this obviously, but the nature of the post suggested this is what the fans would want. Obviously someone can be a writer and a good fan, but most writers just aren't cut out for it. Please leave the writing of AA7 to fans.
