Princess Grand Jamaica Honest Review
My husband and I just returned from our honeymoon at the Princess Grand. I used this subreddit a lot when deciding where to go and wanted to share my feedback.
Stay: 7 nights (Sunday to Sunday) Room: Platinum Junior Suite Price: 3,640.77 USD
Overall our stay was wonderful. While I do believe we got a great value on the platinum suite and accommodations we may or may not do platinum again depending on the deals.
Platinum Experience:
Our concierge team - I don’t love the term “butler” although that’s how they refer to themselves, a little too fancy for us lol - was great but we’re pretty low maintenance vacationers and don’t require hand and foot service around the clock.
They were incredibly useful with getting reservations secured at the resort restaurants for dinner and also helpful with arranging a driver. One of the team members (Patrice) went above and beyond on our anniversary and decorated our suite with flowers, balloons, complimentary champagne bottle and drew a bath with flowers. It was simply beautiful and not requested at all so incredibly thoughtful! Another standout experience was the team (Rahiem was the second mate) coordinating to get my husband cookies delivered when we couldn’t locate any. Small but thoughtful.
The platinum lounge and infinity pool overlooking the ocean is simply gorgeous - the view alone was worth it. We were not so impressed with the lounge buffet - we found the Jamaica Market buffet dining much more expansive in terms of options.
The check in for platinum was awesome as well - seamless, quick, no hiccups here at all.
The Property:
The resort is HUGE! Which we love to walk around and explore so this was great for us. The property is beautiful with pleasant, welcoming decor that invites a serene feeling.
The beach is a bit rocky so be careful, I cut my toe on a rock.
There are several pools, bars, and even a water park for the kids.
Our favorite restaurants were the Jamaican food truck and Fusion (Asian style restaurant). We tried the steakhouse at Senses as well (additional $36 USD/ person) this was great as well. Jamrock was a second favorite. We did not try the Italian restaurant and didn’t love the Mexican restaurant. MVP sports bar was cool for a late night snack and drink (open until 4am. Loved our bartender Shenique!!)
The entertainment is fun and it’s something to do every day and night. The live shows at the auditorium were awesome!
For those who like to “indulge” there is a dispensary called Jecana on the senses side. It was OK! We loved HedoWeedo at Hedonism II much more.
Overall great value and great experience. No one was pushy for tips but we gave a few dollars with every service we received (food, bar, housekeeping) and tipped our concierge team at the end of our stay.
