2025 Moving to Amsterdam from South Africa - is it worth to bring furniture via container

If you get a do-over, will you do the same - moving your furniture over?

Family of 4.

For those with experience, is it worth it to bring furniture with or is it better to come and start all over again? Or of course, rent a place that is already furnished?

At this moment, it is quite difficult to calculate and measure up what is best.
What i know :

• Do not bring washer, dryer, fridge, as they are mostly included in the rental apartments
• There is an IKEA in Amsterdam

Any share of experience will be helpful, what will you do again, and what will you not knowing what you know now?

Edit to add: I do not plan for designer furniture, but really would like some solid lasting furniture and not Temu, plasticky ones. Really looking for a comfortable homey space. How much does it cost for a 2 room apartment more or less?
