Audi Tech should do better

I absolutely love driving my 2024 S5 sportback premium plus, black optic package, red seats and red calipers.

But the difference is night and day with my partner’s 2022 BMW M440i technology. A 2022!

1. Remote features from app (remote start, lock, unlock). I think this feature dropped as recent as 2024, which is a shock already but the remote start never worked on the app. Bandaid fix: Support told me I had to unpair the app and re-pair it, I had to do this several times which is a huge time sink. I just got used to not having that feature.

   1. CarPlay randomly disconnecting mid drive and flickering on and off. It doesn’t happen as much now, a year later, but initially it was infuriating that it would drop mid road trip or just not acknowledge my phone at all for my morning commute. The issue seemed to resolve itself, but very finnicky in the first 6 months.
   2. The app and website are horrendous. The app has little to no information on it, it just routes you to the website. And the Audi Financial website will forget you authenticated even if you just did and said to remember your device. It will refresh you back to login right when you find what you are looking for lol

I swear this is not a pro BMW post, but the Audi development team can also work on: automatically turning on heated seats depending on outside temp, automatically locking and unlocking doors when the fob is a certain distance from vehicle, adding camera functionality to the app so I can see my car’s surroundings remotely, and maybe add a knob in the center console to navigate the system instead of grubby fingers always touching the screen…. And fuel mileage
