Durex - safe or not?

I came out of the closet fairly recently, and my boyfriend is a bit older and with much more experience than me, but I love him anyway. We finally did the did last week and it accured to me that both the condoms and lube, plus a toy he has are all Durex, and that's all he has. Should I tell him to throw them out and get something BDS safe? Or are those okay?
