DAY 19: Eliminating “every” Non-Best Musical winner until there’s only one left! (START OF PHASE 3)

Welcome to PHASE 3 everyone! WOW This game has gone by so quickly! We have our TOP 9. And only 4 more rounds to go until we have r/Broadway’s (figurative) BEST Non-Best Musical winner. But before we move forward— there is a major update in gameplay.

BEGINNING TODAY, I will be posting the remaining nominated titles in individual comments. The upvotes and downvotes will be cast on THOSE comments. This is to ensure fairness and clarity. This will allow each show to be available for voting at the same time and reduce an excess of duplicate comments.

Please continue to discuss and defend. This just streamlines deciphering which comments are votes to be tallied and which comments are for discussion. The “nomination comments” will be posted as soon as the post is up. This change in gameplay has been part of the plan from the beginning. Please see the master post below if you have any questions.

The rules are quite simple:

  • RULE #1: ONE show title per comment and please include WHY. There’s no way to tally which shows the upvotes on your comment go towards if there’s multiple titles. Votes are tallied by number of upvotes on the top 3 COMMENTS containing a single show title, not on the replies/duplicate comments.

  • RULE #2: Do not comment the name of your fave show on the list. That is the opposite of how to play.

  • RULE #3: Keep the discussion civil. Please defend your fave with your whole heart. Make your argument for why your show of choice should be gone. Just don’t be condescending or unkind. General reddiquette and r/Broadway rules apply. This is a game! Let’s have FUN.

  • RULE #3.5: Everybody has to be nice to me. I’m doing this in my spare time for fun. PLEASE feel free to correct any misinformation you may catch! Incorrect year? Something out of order? Let me know! I’m always open to constructive criticism, just keep it cute.

  • RULE #4: Be objective. There is definitely going to be some recency bias, but consider the long term impression the show has made too.

  • RULE #5: Always read the body of the post. Results from the previous day’s votes will be listed, and updates will be posted to give any heads up you may need for upcoming phases.
