Hello everyone!
My husband (42M) was diagnosed with fibromyalgia about 10 years ago. Treatment with Lyrica and other meds initially helped resolve 80% of the problems. However, over the past 6 years, more symptoms have returned and are amping up in severity.
Biggest problems that are now impacting him: Frequent falls Loss of stability in legs Numbness/tingling in hands, feet, face Muscles locking for hours or days Severe joint/muscle pain Difficulty with fine motor movements in both hands
He’s needing to frequently use a cane for stability with walking. His legs will also give out at random times.
We explored every diagnostic route available over the last 3 years. Everything came back normal, much to our frustration.
We finally invested in genetic analysis with an at-home kit through the company Sequencing. CMT came back as high probability and everything else we suspected resulted negative. My husband does have two close relatives with CMT, so we’re pretty confident this is the right diagnosis.
He has an appointment with his primary MD in a month. What are questions we should bring with us? We’ve already sent his MD the genetic profile. We’re just desperate for help as his physical decline is getting more rapid and his job is manual (machinist/floor supervisor).
