Playing with Friends help

Hey all, quick question that I can’t figure out. Trying to play BO6 Zombies with a buddy, however when I invite a player it says there are not online(even though they are). We both have PS5s and have the lasted version of COD, cross play is enabled (even though we are both on the same type of console). Despite all this when I invite a player it says their the player is not online. I don’t know what else to do but I can’t get it working. Any ideas ??
