Is this silver tarnish, milk spotting or oxidization?
Hi, I don’t know much about coins or coin collecting but about 12 years ago I started saving all my change whenever I paid with cash. (it’s my only savings account lol) I separate it all into mason jars that I store in my safe.
These silver coins were gifted to me in 2014 and I didn’t remove them from their plastic until today. I just treated them like the rest of my change and put them in a mason jar that had some various older paper currency in it.
After some google searching I’m still confused as to what this is or what to do about it? Is this normal with age? Possible damage? Best way to store them other than the original plastic case and a mason jar in a safe?
Also it seems the 1.5 oz Arctic Fox (7500 minted) is worth similar or even less than the 1 oz Peregrine falcon (20K minted) why would this be if the fox weighs more in pure silver and is more limited? Does it have to do with the artist?
Great community and thanks in advance for any info…
