Leaving cats during trips

Hi everyone, I've had cats for years but most recently I've been traveling more often.

I have a 3yo female cat with my partner which we left in a cat hotel for around 3 weeks in december, and I know they treated her well since the place and the people working there are quite nice, but after we picked her up a week later had a bad bacteria on her chin which we can't help but see the coincidence in the dates she was in the cat hotel.

She went through treatment and the vet told us her defenses could've gone down after she was in there due to stress/anxiety , etc. She has not been around other cats much either ever since we got her so that's something else too.

During 1 week trips we ask for a friend to go visit her everyday around 2-3 hours and while she still doesn't trust anyone as much as us both, i think it's helpful to see someone during that time.

My question is if during another long trip should we risk again trying for the cat hotel or leaving her at home and have someone visit her, even if it's for a longer period of time. I have no clue on which is better for her, if staying more time alone or being anxious in a different place than hers but maybe getting used to with time?

Thank you
