Debit Card was duped and Chase says it's impossible.
A week ago my debit card was skimmed at my local grocery store. I didn't realize until after $1400 went missing from my account. In a weeks time, their investigation team said that it was authorized transactions (look at the atm camera, it's obviously not me).
They said "It was made using a chipset authorization and it's impossible for the chip to be cloned"
Which is false, because otherwise I wouldn't be sitting here with 1400 missing from my account. Not to mention that the person that filed the claim filed for the incorrect amount so I had to call again to correct the claim amount (they were missing a $500 atm transaction)
What's absolutely infuriating in all of this is their absolute arrogance and complete dismissal of the issue and treating it as if I'm lying. I've been with chase for nearly 10 years and have never ran into this. Not to mention they're outright refusal to look at ATM cameras.
Not really sure how to proceed with this, other than talking to my local branch, the police, and possibly looking at getting legal counsel. $1400 is no small chunk of change.
