Is the Cherokee XJ a Reliable Daily/Long-Trip Vehicle?
Hey everyone,
I’m seriously considering buying a Jeep Cherokee XJ, but after reading a bunch of posts on Reddit, I’m starting to have second thoughts.
If I will found one in good condition (mechanically and structurally solid), and my plan is to use it as a daily driver for my commute and hopefully take it on road trips across Europe, do you think is feasible?
I love the XJ’s rugged, classic look and off-road capability, is a passion car that I wanted for many years, but is it practical for long-distance travel and daily reliability? Or would it be smarter to buy a different car for commuting and keep the XJ as an overlanding project?
For context, I live in Europe, so fuel prices, parts availability, and long highway miles are factors to consider.
Would love to hear from XJ owners or anyone with experience! Is it worth it, or should I reconsider?
Thanks in advance!
