BTAC and Allocated

Welp - Binny’s is moving all of their allocated - including all regular Buffalo Trace, to an auction style format. This is pending how the BTAC release goes but my store informed me they will not longer have the individual store ability to hold back bottles or pick who gets what. It will move to a centralized process to be reviewed.

He said they’d be looking at: - what do you buy. - how frequently you visit. - are you store hopping for allocated items. - tracking what items you do get to spread out what selections you ultimately get.

He said they promised that volume buyers, (I’m a big wine buyer), will not be negatively impacted by the change. But he was bummed they can no longer reward their local loyal customers.

So - everything is now moved to the app. There is an auction list each person can sign up for and you pick what you’d like to get when they receive drops.

Will be interesting to see how this plays out. As a non flipper, non stay outside and camp, non bourbon only buyer - it stinks my store can’t reward me.

Bourbon campers ruin, to me, the last good store that had a fairly solid process.
