Why don’t more people use Ipe?

Just finished this front deck/walkway. Did a rear deck in three years ago. Because the Ipe lasts so long, I used the highest quality materials I could: ground contact pressure treated, stainless steel screws, joist tape on everything. I expect it to last 50 years. Yes it’s more expensive, but only few thousand more for double or triple the lifespan.
