Whats the most points a person has benched in one season?

Defenders around the 4.5 million price point are actually starting to piss me off now, to the point where I am actually considering trent, vvd, gabriel, and 2 4 million defenders on my next wildcard to avoid the benching headache. I have somehow managed to bench all of Ola Aina's, Rayan Ait-Nouris, and Lewis Hall's hauls, and when I play them they seem to get 1, 0 or - points. Its not just defenders as well. Budget midfielders are a headache, as I bought semenyo in gwk5 and the 3 times I have benched him have been for 2 goals and an assist, and the 14 times I have played him, he has only delivered me 1 goal, and that was against southampton in gwk 7. It's probably the psychology that man city is still a tough fixture, as I benched Amad for his haul against them, and I am sure many would have benched Rogers for his haul against them as well. Is this a skill issue or am I just unlucky?
