I’m just now realizing that Kratos could’ve killed Thor at any moment during this fight if he wanted to….
So we already know Thor was going ALL out during this fight, clearly intending to kill Kratos during this, even awakening his own “Spartan rage”. Kratos clearly refrained from brutalizing Thor during this, I don’t wanna say “holding back” but it’s in that word category, I mean he literally is the one trying to help Thor see reason during this fight, but I also noticed there was quite a couple of times Kratos had the chance to end him.
In the first image, it’s obviously the scene where they both pick each other up, slams each other on the ground, Kratos tries to get Mjolnir, Thor stops him, etc. Thor then picks him the throat attempting to choke him out/snap his neck. Now in this scene, Kratos uses draupnir and stabs Thor in the shoulder, when he literally could have just stabbed him in the head with it. Kratos at this exact moment chose to stab Thor in the shoulder, when he could’ve easily just “game overed” him by stabbing him with Draupnir in the head. Now of course Kratos wasn’t going for the kill during this fight, but Thor blinded by rage could’ve likely easily been killed by Kratos, moving on to the next image.
In the second image, it’s the moment after Kratos wins the clash, stabbing the axe in Thors belly and slamming him in the ground, trapping his hand with the knife. Kratos legit could’ve killed him right then and there, he could’ve stabbed him in the head with the axe, his blades, or Draupnir. The moment he trapped his hand with the Knife, he could have killed him, but again Kratos wasn’t going for the kill.
This is an example that “sometimes” being blinded by rage can have you make pretty dumb choices. It’s clear that, had Kratos potentially have wanted to kill Thor, he had so many chances to do so, and if he wanted to he could’ve. Thoughts on this? I may have made some spelling mistakes so just ignore those lmao.
