Contemplating buying a '06 883 with 6.5k miles to use primarily for work commute. Good idea or bad?

Both my cars are gas guzzlers ('17 Rubicon, '86 El Camino SS). looking to ride the bike to work on nice days (North Carolina). Is there anything I should take into consideration about an '06 883? I know its the last year they were carbed. Never had a carbed bike, only a fuel injected sportsbike. El Camino is Carbed though.
