I hate this game... (Freelancer)

I had 700,000+ merces in Freelancer, on the last contract of a syndicate series. Lo and behold, a glitch means I get spotted instantly and an assassin one shots me with one of their ridiculously overpowered pistols before I can even so much as react. Now I'm down to 340,000 merces and all of my stuff is gone because this mode can't sort its own shit out.

I've played every Hitman game, and am level 717 on Hitman 3, but this is making me never want to touch it again.
