Would you change your name based on all the stereotypes given to the name "Kevin" in Germany, France, Belgium, etc?
I have never had an issue with my name, nor do I feel conflicted about it. Nevertheless, the name "Kevin" is usually used as a slur or as a way to call someone "dumb", "stupid", "low-class", "unintelligent", or "misbehavior" in many parts of the world (Germany with this term "kevinismus"). Honestly, I do not know what to do anymore. I was thinking of changing my legal name to avoid such prejudices but I am unsure if leaving a part of my identity feels right to me. What would you guys do?
