23M, failed my driving exam today, it was my first time. I made more than 20 mistakes, I feel unmotivated and ashamed, I am the worst driver ever
I had 25 hours of driving lessons 3 months ago, and 5 this week which I thought would be enough to avoid repeating the mistakes I am making while driving.
I made so many mistakes and drove terribly. I can’t blame anyone but myself. The examiner was shocked.
My steering and car control were awful. The car rolled backward on a hill, I turned into the wrong lane, and I nearly stalled because my clutch control was so poor. I got confused while checking the mirrors and couldn’t judge the distance between my car and others. The whole experience was just painful to watch.
Driving feels really challenging for me. I struggle with multitasking, which makes it hard to judge when to start steering or how close I am to objects while also working with the brake/clutch/gas and controlling the situation on the road. When I steer, I tend to panic and move the wheel too quickly, which makes it look messy and uncontrolled.
I am doing beginner mistakes that shouldn't be done after 30 hours of driving. I guess driving is not meant for me.
I will keep watching my friends drive and just accept that I am never going to be able to drive.
How do I even learn this? I’m not expecting to become a great driver overnight, but I should at least be able to avoid mistakes like stalling, rolling backward, or having awful steering. After 30 hours of lessons, I feel like I should be past this point. I am stuck in one place.
