Stuck in Minneapolis today - what to do?
My wife and I are stuck in Minneapolis today (Monday) after our flight was canceled last night and rescheduled for this evening. We are in the airport / Mall of America area but could Lyft somewhere. Looking for something calm and quiet or an interesting place to walk around. Looks like most of the museums are closed today. We will also probably need lunch at some point. Any suggestions?
EDIT/UPDATE: Thank you all so much for your suggestions! I wish we had time to do them all. We ended up getting metro day passes at the Mall of America Blue line stop. (Which are a great deal IMO!) We rode the train the Minehaha park and observed the frozen falls and tried to read Song of Hiawatha around the fountain but some parts were illegible. Then we got back on the train and headed downtown. The website description of Skyways as "the world's largest second level indoor walkway network, built piecemeal, visitors often get lost" sounded too much like an RPG adventure location to pass up. We navigated to The Crystal Court because that seemed like the most magical. I was disappointed in the amount of monsters and loot but not disappointed in the cinnamon roll I had, which was very warm and gooey. Turns out we did not have as much time as I thought because my wife still had remote meetings and wanted to get back to the airport for the WiFi so we took the train back. But we still had a great impromptu adventure. Thanks from both of us!
