What is "Permanent Wave" as a genre of music?

Was going through my Spotify Year in Music data, and for some reason it has the genre "Permanent Wave" listed as one of my top genres, and I have no idea what that means. I even tried googling it and couldn't really find out what that means.

My guess is maybe that it has something to do with New Wave? I don't really listen to a lot of that though, so I'm at a loss for what it could be referring to. Anyone heard of this genre and could maybe give me an example of some artists that produce it?
