Anyone else’s narc diagnose them with health issues you don’t have?

I’ve been a very small, very skinny person for most of my life. So much so that Dr.s would constantly check my thyroid, and when they found nothing wrong they would assume I might be anorexic. I’ve been to psychic units as a kid and one of the workers had me take off my clothes to look at my body and was shocked to find I still had a healthy layer of fat on me. I’d been forced to drink weight gain shakes and watched to use the bathroom. Reality was I was simply a very active person who actually ate a boat load of food and was built to be on the lower end weight of the spectrum.

My ex narc knew all of this, and he could relate because despite not being short (he was tall) he was always very skinny growing up and got shit for it too.

By the age of 25 I felt so bad about my body I intentionally gained about 30 pounds over the course of the next 6 years. I devolved crippling IBS and binge eating disorder. I mainly carried it in my stomach and always looked 9 months pregnant, even though for most people it would be an okay weight, it wasn’t for me.

Fast forward to now and after I broke up with my narc (we broke up because he had no idea how sick I was after a year of reassuring me he understood disability) we started talking again a few months later and I was happy to announce I lost all the weight, (but intentionally keeping a few extra pounds on because I’m older now) my IBS is practically gone and I’m down to using the bathroom 2-3 times a day instead of 30. I’m more active and mobile in years. Im eatting healthier, and I have new hair coming in etc.

After telling him how much my health improve my narc proceeded to tell me he thinks I have an eating disorder. Said he counted my calories while I was visiting him, etc. I was like whoa, um I didn’t eat a lot because I was in an new environment, chronically constipated, and you didn’t count my calories because I would sometimes eat a meal when you were out, and snacks you didn’t count. He said “I love you but I don’t know if I can be with someone with an active addiction. If you want to get help I’ll be here for you. But don’t do it for me, do it for yourself.”

So, I talked to my Dr., my therapist, my friend who works as peer support, and my sister, I even sent pictures of me. Absolutely no one said they were concerned and everyone clocked it as gaslighting.

First I was too sick for this man. Now I apparently have an eating disorder. As a disabled person who is unable to work and spends their entire day doing the therapeutic things to heal their body in mind, I am very aware of what my health issues are and aren’t and I’m just so disgusted that this is an area he decided to target, despite knowing my history, and despite having reportedly sharing the same issues.

It kind of reminded me of two other occasions. once when I was dating this guy who I’m pretty sure had NPD too after we had gotten in a fight and I came back the next day he said that he was concerned from my health because my waterline looked red and I smelled different. That one was so bizarre that me and my friend had to laugh at that and I actually got away from him pretty quick because he was unnerving. My most recent narc actually said something similar when I came to visit about me “smelling different “but still good” Which makes sense to me. I’m not in my house using all of my beauty products, etc. that I usually do. And I definitely know it’s not from me not taking a shower because I spend at least an hour in there every day. But something about him saying that made me feel really uncomfortable.

Anybody else experienced medical gaslighting. I know they tend to diagnosis a lot with like mental health issues but I was curious if anybody had physical ones. Feel free to share both experiences though.
