Longtime fan - finally watched DRS1
Wow. After hearing about the spinoff of Ninjago I immediately thought to myself, "what a dumb idea. Just leave it as it is instead of continuing an endless downhill all the way to rock bottom." However, after it being out for quite a while now, I decided to watch it. And boy, am I glad I did. This show is amazing! The characters, animation, and easily most importantly - the storytelling. The mystery had me at the tips of my toes, I was invested! Not to mention we were back to 22-minute episodes đ. It really leaves a bitter taste in my mouth to say (because of nostalgia and superiority) but theres no way this is anywhere below an s-tier season for me. Arin, Sora, and Wyldfyre are all amazing! I love the Kai + Wyldfyre relationship, and this season really did confirm who my favorite ninja is. From Zane at first, to Jay (Cole is my king though, he doesn't get enough love đ), to Kai always being an option, Kai really stood out to me in this season. Now I can confidently say I have a favorite ninja, him also being the one I believe I am most like (I am aware that kai fans are basic, shh). I can't wait to learn more about the administration, master wu, those portal gate things, the locations of others (Dareth, Misako, ninja parents, elemental masters, Pixal, why is everybody that was in Ninjago that are also here in DR only Ninja? I think?) and especially these new elemental powers and "source dragons". Also... Jay??? I saw him once and flipped out, and snap he was gone. Also, if every realm is connected, are we finally gonna learn what all 16 are? And Ras really does look Chima, but he is the only one I could spot! And are the Departed Realm and Cursed Realm a part of ninjago now? Anyone could come back to life! And doesn't time flow differently in the Never-Realm, how will that work? If it does, I suppose Akita was right about seeing Lloyd again đ. And I suppose a mergequake happened in the center of Shintaro, because Geckles and Munce are everywhere now! (Why does Geo's name start with G when he said he was Munce? An he said "Cole". Not "Mole".) And I do hope this spinoff brings back things from old seasons, like how MotO brought back the Tornado of Creation. Golden Weapons, elemental dragons, TEAPOT OF TYRAHN, TIME TWINS, FFIDUUUGI DOVE, anything would be so cool. And the ending! I cannot wait to watch the next season, I have high hopes (They better change those gi shapes đ¤Ž). Anyway, those are my thoughts on Dragons Rising Season 1. What were yours when you first watched?
