Today I f*cked up big time.

Today I decided to do yard work. I usually take any Swiss watch I’m wearing off and swap in a bronze cased 70’s turtle diver. It’s my yard watch.

While loading half a ton of palm fronds into my truck I heard a loud metallic crash at my feet. It was my vintage Speedmaster that was separated from its strap (which was still on my arm) and had crashed onto the stone driveway landing on its crown.

The stem was shot through my 861 like a bullet. At least it was quick and it didn’t suffer.

RIP 1987 Speedy. You will be missed. I really fucked up big this time. It’s going to be an expensive mistake.

Would you send it to Omega, who may remove my beautiful tritium dial and hands, or get an Omega certified independent who serviced my tritium Explorer II and left my dial and hands alone?
