Did anyone else think Craig was Rumple son on their first watch?
So during season 2 of Once Upon a Time, one of the plot lines focused on Rumple search on looking for his long lost son, who ended up being Neal Cassidy.
But on my first watch back in 2013 when I was 8, I initially thought that Craig was going to end up being Rumplestiltskin son due to the time of his arrival in Storybrooke being suspicious, and his goal for wanting to get rid of magic for reasons that I forgot as he was a forgettable character.
And Craig goal for wanting to get rid of magic could’ve easily been explained had he been rumple son, because Balefire seen the power Rumplestiltskin possessed and wanted him to stop using it so that he can go back to being the loving father he once knew. Plus, both Craig and Balefire were lost boys and knew Peter Pan.
I do wonder if this was the original plan for Craig? I think this would’ve been a more interesting idea for the character and it would’ve help naturally lead into the Neverland arc from season 3 as Craig story ended up being filler and did nothing for the actual plot.
And yes, I know this would mean that Neal and Balefire would be two separate characters, but they kinda felt like two separate characters anyways. So the show should’ve made Craig be Balefire to make the character interesting.
