Looks like my periods are messing everything up

Recently, I've been having an issue where I will bleed very lightly/ spot for a week or two, followed by one to three days of extremely heavy bleeding. Clots everywhere, more hygiene, product changes than I can count, etc.

Now I've been dizzy since Saturday afternoon, and the doctor just told me today that if my blood levels come back too low they're going to have to send me to the ER for a blood transfusion. I've had to call out of work for the last 2 days, and I have no idea how to tell my boss that it's because of blood loss. I'm going to have to keep calling out until this dizziness gets under control, but we're preparing for the start of the school year now so I really don't have time to be home.

Just looking for a little moral support. I guess. My friends are wonderful but they are a little overly worried and I'm starting to feel a little smothered.

UPDATE: I'm going to the hospital now for a transfusion. This is not fun.
