Merging Saves/Importing Palbox Pals

Is it possible to import a character and all their pals to an existing save? I'm hosting a multiplayer save and I want to import my friend's character + pals from his save so it so he doesn't have to start over.

I managed to get the character transferred but all the palbox pals are missing, and after some research I think the data is stored in the Level.sav file? The problem is that I don't know if a tool or method exists that can merge or assign those files to transfer the pals over without overwriting my Level.sav. All existing guides I've seen seem to talk about copying over/replacing one save file which isn't really what I'm looking for.
