Visiting Paris on Friday - staying in La Villette and just seen some bad reviews of the area

We booked to go to Paris for the weekend after finding very cheap flights and what looked like nice accommodation.

I have now realised that we are staying in a place that seems to be quite dangerous? It's right beside the metro station at La Villette.

Obviously it's too late to change or cancel now, I'm just wondering is it really as bad as people say?
