A question about local traditions or superstitions

I (M, European) am in trouble with my S.O. (Filipina) and am seeking the opinion of any locals here to help me see if I am right or wrong

Over the past few years of liviing in PH she has come out with some surprising opinions and tells me that they are believed around here, so I must accept and honour even if it don't believe it myself.

Things from visits to a quack doctor that can fix broken bones by shaking their hands over the affected area and local psychics that can tell her where her lost scissors are, to insisting that I can't take a hot shower after doing hard work as that will give me arthritis.

I find myself in uncomfortably hot water because this week a local wandering dog has been leaving poo in her garden and it is my fault because I have a habit of leaving pan lids on top of the gas cooker. There was a poo in the garden yesterday and this afternoon she found another pan lid on the stove top and she is acting like she might throw me out of the house.

She is not even joking.

Having read about someone here earlier today that is not getting married because someone else in their close family was already married this year, I am questioning myself now. Is there a correlation between pan lids on cookers & dogs pooing in the garden?

Her elderly neighbour believes it therefore she does too, but no amount of logic or cries for common sense from me can dissuade her.

Help me Filippino's. You are my only hope.

Thank you
