Sickness in Punta Cana

Hi I’m looking to book 3 nights at Excellence PC and 3 nights at Secrets Cap Cana in June for my anniversary. The only thing stopping me are reviews/reports that make it seem like basically 50% of visitors experience sickness or food poisoning. Is that fairly accurate or just a common misconception?

I was also looking at Jamaica or St Kitts or Aruba as those don’t seem to have as many sick visitors but my priority right now is definitely Punta Cana.
