Why is everyone so condescending

I’ve asked a few questions on this subreddit and everytime people answer with snark. it should be a safe space to ask questions - so I encourage you all to think twice when you answer someone’s question, sure it might be dumb to you but the whole point of this subreddit is that we can help each other out? Why bother answering someone’s question if you are going to be mean or rude?
