What do you think constitutes decent groveling?

I've found that, to me, decent groveling usually comes in this sort of form:. 1. MMC who wronged FMC humiliating himself publicly, usually by admitting his misdeeds, while begging FMC for a second chance. 2. MMC withstanding bodily harm to protect FMC or pay penance to having bodily harmed her. 3. MMC withstanding some sort of denial that causes emotional anguish, even better if we get his suffering POV (usually sexual).
