Are callused hands hot?

I have thought about this A LOT because the world is intense, so this is the perfect time to ruminate on such burning philosophical questions.

I have finally worked up the courage to ask this...

Are callused hands hot?

Because whenever I read "his callused fingers brushed her face" or whatever, I think. "Ehhhh. Okay?"

I suspect that I am the weird one here and that this is supposed to be sexy.

Why do so many rando office dudes who do not do any manual labor have callused hands? What are they doing with those staplers? Are the calluses from paper cuts? Do they have a farming side-hustle? Are they a member of their recreation center's competitive logging team?

I am guessing the appeal in callused hands relates to masculinity in some way? I mean, I, a random internet woman, have calloused fingertips from playing guitar, and I don't necessarily like having callosed fingers...they just feel like sandpaper? But maybe that's because I'm a woman? If I were a man would I be proud of my manly callused hands?

Please explain to me the hotness of callused hands/fingers and also where these dudes are getting these calluses when they haven't felled a single tree to my knowledge.

Sincerely,

Callous about Calluses

(P.S.- Same thing with chapped lips? I see this less often, but whenever I encounter descriptions of chapped lips and kissing, I get the sense I am I supposed to find this hot...but I...don't.)

EDIT to clarify: I don't think callused hands are gross or anything. I just don't think they are hot either? I suppose I am neutral on the hotness of calluses.

EDIT 2 OMG ya’ll I was supposed to go to bed an hour ago, but now I won’t be able to sleep because ya’ll have made me grossed out by any and all skin texture descriptors.

Edit 3 It is 1:15am. I am still awake thinking about this. Future me has time traveled back to this moment to slap me (with her callus-ridden hands) for staying awake to talk about calluses on Reddit.*
