Yheti/Toadface Debussy Medic Call

So last night Debussy got real saucy.

I got down there early, right when music started and it was very chill/tame. I was vibing out hard in front of the stacks, and a dude stumbles by (nearly into me) and I quickly realized he was not all there 🙃. He then fell into the stacks (good looking out on the rails) and began screaming into the speakers. This was the first sign debauchery was coming, and I wanted to make sure I could find help for this dude in case he needed it, so I took a lap to see if there was and visible security or medics in the area.

Couldn't find any event staff or harm reduction crew. It worried me then, and unfortunately, it became an issue. Later in the night, someone (no idea if it was this guy, but regardless) was in need of immediate attention. People in the crowd began to panic and yelled to Yheti & Toadface to stop the music and call for help. I was maybe 10 feet from the person who needed help and became very worried myself, because I'd already gone to scope the medic situation.

I want to give MAJOR kudos to Yheti & Toadface for the ability to keep everyone calm with soft spoken, positive language. I don't know if they realize how big that was for the people in the area trying to help.

Also, huge shout out to Debussy crew for making the announcement prior to this situation to let them know if anybody needed anything. It gave people the ability to make a quick decision when there wasn't an obvious place to go to ask for help. Y'all could have saved a life.

Advice for next year: please have medics and harm reduction roamers with clear signage near the late night stages to be more prepared for situations like this. Every minute counts when it comes to an OD, seizure, cardiac event, etc. and we want everyone to make it home.

Hope everyone is okay and has a safe trip home. Take care of yourself and your friends out there. Until next year dreamers. ✌️
