Do you guys always upgrade?

Just got my Shield pro last weekend and It now asks me to upgrade to 9.1.1. is it a safe upgrade?

Also in general should I be quick to upgrade when new versions come up or wait and see what others have to say about it. I'm always hesitant in case they fix something but break other stuff
