(Spoilers for the 3rd movie after credits scene)

How do you think they will handle Amy in the Sonic movie 4? Specifically her relationship with Sonic. Everything excluding the Archie comics has left Sonic’s romantic feelings for anyone ambiguous. Do you think they’ll do this in the movie? I personally don’t mind Sonamy, but I wouldn’t like to see it in the movie unless it’s handled like it is in the rest of the games/shows, or platonic. I feel like if they made their relationship in the movie mutually romantic, it would be treated as a “gotcha” to any other people who ship Sonic or Amy with someone else, and the ship wars and harassment towards people who like other Sonic or Amy ships would become a lot more prominent.

Also, making their relationship mutual would just be so out of character for Sonic, he’s always been uninterested and cool, but now people are saying he should basically simp for Amy. I don’t like the obsessive attitude Amy has towards Sonic in canon, but I also don’t think they should change her entire character. In my opinion, the best option would be either for her to still have a crush, but not have it be obsessive, not attack him all the time, and have her take no for an answer, or for them to have a sibling-like relationship. If they had a sibling-like relationship, it would be less weird for her to be living with the Wachowski family, and she’d fit in better with team Sonic, it would also still leave room for people to ship Sonamy, just not have it be canon.

That’s why I think they shouldn’t have a canon relationship in the movie, but I know a lot of people want the opposite of this (some people even saying that Sonic should have a one sided crush on Amy), so opinions out of the way, what do you think is the most likely to happen?
