Ancestry of Kanyabuja Brahmin of South India and Central India
Greetings Everyone
I have been looking to understand the origins of my family's ancestry. We are Kanyakubja Brahmins by ethnicity, so as the name suggests, we likely hail from the Kannauj/Awadh region of Uttar Pradesh. However barring a few, most of my family's on my mother and grandmother's side trace family in Bombay or the Marathwada region of Maharashtra. The other half resides in the Southern Western part of Madhya Pradesh. Some, here, do mention an ancestral land near Kanpur, but not much is known of it in my own family. We basically have known ancestors in Malwa and Maharashtra.
The question I have are:
- What is the ancestral history of Kanyakubja Brahmins
- What intermixing can I assume given the southern migration of my family
