Politics or Spokane?

Ok, I've only been here for a couple of weeks now, but it seems we quickly turned into 90% political posts and all hard Democratic. I'm a Democrat too, but so much of it is easy enough to read on the r/politics or r/news pages. Do we also need it filling up this subreddit?

I appreciate the dedication to the cause, trying to keep people informed, but Spokane is a community of opposing opinions. Fairly purple city. I personally think it would be nice if the whole community could participate on this subreddit without feeling constantly under attack or bombarded by subjects that are likely adding to an already anxiety filled day.

Now some news is very specific to the region, like the horrible town hall situation in CDA a week ago, but a recycling of all the national political news is probably turning off more people than just me.

Maybe this has always been the practice on r/spokane ? I really don't know, since I am new here.
