I'm sorry, but Cinderellas Castle was the least funny starkid show imo

I recently watched the digital ticket. It had an intriguing story, excellent acting, amazing costumes and a few of the songs were great.

But one thing that stood out to me was how unfunny it was. I don't remember there being many jokes in the first 30 minutes other than the wood block and the prince's one dimensional sex craze.

Now the puppets were all hilarious at times. Crumb especially.

But other than the puppets, most "jokes" were the prince making nonstop crude remarks. I'm fine with potty humor (I even love MAMD), but it was very heavy handed and really the only kind of humor. There was a lack of clever quips and silly characters outside of the puppets.

CC was definitely more of a dark show than it was a funny show, but even hatchetfield felt funnier than this. Hatchetfield always felt like a parody/spoof of modern horror tropes. But CC just feels like a dark twist on the Cinderella story, with very little successful humor to connect with the audience.

Imo, starkid is at its best when it makes a silly twist on a classic idea and adds in a little bit of heart. Hatchetfield started becoming a dark twist on a classic idea with a little bit of sillyness. Now CC just feels like a dark twist with no sillyness and very little heart (story is more about revenge than happy endings)
