Can we play Stardew Valley online?

Me and my girlfriend are in a long distance relationship. We're finding a game that we can enjoy playing together. Is there a way we can play Stardew Valley co-op on our phones? We both use iphones. I found that you need to install vpn or sth which takes a lot of steps I'm not sure we can do on our phones (especially ios).
