Windows laptop for research and gaming

  • Total budget: Under PHP200k or £2,800 or €3.350 (will be going back to the UK soon and traveling around europe for sometime so i don't mind purchasing wherever the model is available)
  • Are you open to refurbs/used? no.
  • How would you prioritize form factor (ultrabook, 2-in-1, etc.), build quality, performance, and battery life? Hoping for a laptop thatcan handle ~8 hours of usage without being charged if needed. No specific preference to build quality except i hope it can last a long time lol. No preference in form.
  • How important is weight and thinness to you? If the laptop ends up being heavy and a bit thich, I guess it's something I can overlook if the quality is really great and would last me several years.
  • Do you have a preferred screen size? N/A
  • Are you doing any CAD/video editing/photo editing/gaming? Python / R/ Matlab (entering neuroscience so these are the most likely softwares I'll be using), Miscrosoft Office, heavy browsing, and occasional gaming
  • If you're gaming, do you have certain games you want to play? At what settings and FPS do you want? Sims 4, Assassins Creed, Call of Duty, The Last of Us
  • Any specific requirements such as good keyboard, reliable build quality, touch-screen, finger-print reader, optical drive or good input devices (keyboard/touchpad)? Reliable build quality is all I hope for.
  • Leave any finishing thoughts here that you may feel are necessary and beneficial to the discussion. In case this is beneficial, I'm hoping for a durable laptop where I wouldn't need to replace it after 2 years already. I understand its longevity is relative to how I take care of it but surely having a reliable quality helps. I've been using a macbook pro for the longest time and while i appreciate its value, I can't play games on it and have heard from friends that coding/programming isn't the best here. I have no proper knowledge on these things so please go easy on me lol

Note: I know im supposed to add a flair, but i'm only being given the option to add tags.

Thanks in advance everyone!
