Despite Graduating from Film School, Why is James' Knowledge of Film Very Surface Level? Why Is His Media Literacy So Poor?
I would think for someone who has graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Fine Arts and someone who has reviews and talks about art for a living, this dude has to have some deep knowledge about film as that is his main focus. Yet, as exemplified in the previous monster madness, he either repeats what has been said about a film, talks about basic themes like "good vs evil" you would learn in a middle school English class, and acts as if they are profound, and never says anything deeper then "I like this thing, it reminds me of muh kids." In his Breaking Bad video, he did like five or six years back; this dude was fascinated by the idea of an anti-hero or morally grey protagonist.
Did the college he went to was shit? Was the quality of education and what they taught garbage? Did the school staff not care about what he learned or the quality of his education? Or is it something deeper. Like, does he have some severe mental disabilities? Like high-functioning autism, ADHD, bad memory, intellectual disability, dyslexia, the sorts. Or, to put it bluntly, is he mentally retarded? Because in James and Mike Mondays, he seems to forget basic facts and fail on trivia for Universal Monsters and always say "don't quote me" or "if memory serves me correctly, I think" when asked something.
It's kinda scary for how he dosen't seem to have any deep knowledge on much if any subjects. This would be fine if he didn't make art and review art for a living. Maybe because it has to do with some severe mental disability not properly treated, or if he was just lazy all his life.
