there is a higher gap between the accuracy of the phantom and the vandal than you think
(disclaimer: more accurate calculations in comments)
You might look at the fsa of the phantom/vandal and see 0.2 and 0.25 and think that that means that the phantom is 20% more accurate than the vandal or the vandal is 25% more inaccurate than the phantom. You would be wrong to assume that, here's why. (i think)
The inaccuracy is measured in degrees from the centre of your crosshair. This means that for the vandal, the area of inaccuracy is a circle with a radius of 0.25 degrees. Using ' π r^2' with r being 0.25, we can find the area or inaccuracy, which is 0.1963 square degrees. If we do the same for the vandal(0.2) we get 0.1257. That means that the vandal is 56.25% more inaccurate than the phantom.
This means that at longer ranges, if the phantom hit 80/100 bullets, the vandal would miss 56.25% more shots, leading to it only hitting 69 shots. On the flip side, his also means that the phantom is 36% more accurate than the vandal.
You could also calculate this by taking 0.25 and 0.2 and dividing them by each other to get 1.25 and 0.8. You can square those to get 1.5625, which you might recognise from the 56.25% extra inaccuracy mentioned earlier and 0.64, which I can take away from 1 to get 0.36 from the 36% more accuracy mentioned earlier. The reason I didn't just use this calculation as my evidence is because using circle areas to show inaccuracy makes more sense.
I'm confident in my claims but if I am wrong, please correct me because there is a chance there is something I don't know about it or my math is just wrong because I just learned about squared degrees because I wanted to know the answer to this.
edit: just want to make it clear just in case, this is the accuracy just standing with no ads or crouching.
edit but another one: Also, this is a very simple assumption on how the spread works so there could be something I'm missing.
edit but another another one: my post in pretty inaccurate, look to the comments and expand the heavily downvoted one and you will see more accurate explanations.
