OBS settings for VHS capture: best settings?

Capturing via HDMI from VHS deck (via USB Elgato-type thing) into OBS, but having a hard time fine tuning the capture. Any best practices/data rates/settings in OBS? Some of these tapes are 4:3, some 16:9, and I can’t find any consensus online about how to get a decent capture. Not looking to upscale or anything fancy, just a decent capture. Working on a MacBook Pro. Please share any tips, I’ve got about SIXTY tapes to capture and really want a couple of presets to make this easier. Thanks for any ideas!
