Protein Dilemma
I'm in week 8 of my journey and currently on .5 and I've been losing at a pretty healthy rate (11.5# so far). My dr. and I decided to keep me on .5 for now because I am experiencing a bit of nausea. In fact, it's been particularly bad this week - my 4th of .5.
My biggest concern is protein consumption. I struggle to get enough protein. I started some homemade protein shakes this week and each day I made one I was so nauseated I couldn't go to work (I can work from home but prefer to go in several days a week). The nausea diminishes my productivity - work work and house work. And, it's affecting my relationship with my dogs because I don't want them all over me (they're "velcro dogs").
I'm concerned that all my weight loss has been muscle but I just can't seem to force myself to eat more protein. My girl dinner go-to's of cans of sardines are failing me! I despise chicken, I have high cholesterol and so I limit my red meat, I'm getting sick of pork tenderloin, salmon is also grossing me out lately.
Any help and advice is greatly appreciated.
