At what tier camos are a must?

Relatively new player, been about a year since i first played legends. Would like to know the fine line between saving your camos for your favourite ships and being a burden in your team for not having a camo. F2P player here so you won't be getting tons of camos even by completing dailies, weeklies, missions etc.
