Is My Kid Weird
Fellow Xennial parents, I assume those of us with children have pretty similarly aged children. My 15 year old daughter has what I think is an odd quirk and I am wondering if it's just a normal thing for the youth.
When she is talking to her friends, she uses their name A LOT. Sometimes multiple times in one sentence. She will say their name to begin almost every sentence. I suppose it could be explained by being in a group chat online and you need to specify who you are talking to, but she also does it when she is in person with just one friend.
"Hi Jane. Jane do you want to go on a walk? That's a really pretty dress Jane. Jane what are you doing right now, Jane?"
She is an otherwise brilliant, sociable, well adjusted kid. It's just the damnedest thing I have ever heard.
Am I alone in this?
Edit: For Real people, stop bringing up autism. My daughter is not in any way on the spectrum. She's just a goofball teenager. This was supposed to be a lighthearted discussion, I really don't need an evaluation...
