Where did they crash

Out of curiosity, has anyone put any thought into the flight path of NJ to Seattle and possibly where the flight could have crashed to where they would have been stranded for nineteen months?

I’m sorry that I have no concept of the Canadian wilderness so I have no clue how it took nineteen months to find them.

I’ve been reading about missing planes and in the 90s it wasn’t a common occurrence.

Then I wonder if the cult they seem to form don’t want to be found and they move around.
