Millenials, as a kid, how did you entertain yourselves when going out with your parents?

Am curious how fellow millenials kept themselves entertained on family outings without digital devices. I'll go first.

Reading was mainly how I staved off boredom. If my family was going for a grocery run or shopping, I would ask them to leave me in a bookstore or library and pick me up after they were done. If I couldn't read a book, depending on the situation, I would people-watch, play with other kids or simply stone.
